FUN BIKE TRIP THROUGH THE TULIPS FIELDS NEAR LISSE
Imagine so many different colors as far as the eye can see. That is what biking through the tulip fields of Holland is like. Vast expanses of tulip and hyacinth flowers blooming everywhere and perfuming the air with their scent. The tulip season is short, somewhere in the early April to early May timeframe depending on the winter prior.
I went on a 50km bike ride with my friend Emily. It was a long day trip, but completely worth it. I rented a bike for the day at Den Hague train station for €25 and then hopped on a smaller train (purchased a cheap ticket with my bike included) with my bike that stopped at Hillegom station. There were signs along the route that said Bollenstreek. This bike trip was a highlight of mine whilst living in Europe as it was surreal and awe-inspiring to look at. |

MAASTRICT....OLD WORLD CHARM |
A fun little day trip from anywhere in the Netherlands as well as from Belgium. Quaint, cobbled streets filled with cafés everywhere. A nice little place to explore. Cool churches and one that's even been converted into a bookstore!
